This is my submission for the Savannah Stopover Music Festival Poster competition. The challenge was to design a band poster for one of the groups on the set list and try to capture the feeling and essence of their music. I went with a band from Nashville called All Them Witches, an aggressive sound mixed between pschadelic rock and blues. The gritty, strong, and visceral guitar and drums evoke a feeling of mystery and danger.
I wanted the image to be grounded in expressive lines with a large bold shape dominating the composition. Gesture is something I also focus a lot on in my work.
Spooky hand lettered text is a must.
